Preparation for Slovak School and Adaptation Support for Ukrainian Children in Bratislava
Classes at the Papraď club help children develop essential skills, adapt to a Slovak-speaking environment and prepare confidently for their future education.
The programme offers two separate age groups. Children aged 4–5 learn according to the Montessori method, while children aged 5–6 prepare for Slovak school using authentic Slovak textbooks.
Children aged 4–5 — Montessori classes
This programme offers a fun and gentle introduction to mathematics, the human body and different areas of science in a simple, age-appropriate way.
The Montessori method uses pictures, crafts, drawing, creative activities and practical tasks. There are no wrong answers: children learn at a comfortable pace while developing independence, confidence, logical thinking, concentration and fine motor skills.
Schedule for children aged 4–5:
Tuesday: 15:30–16:15;
Saturday: 14:00–14:45.
The monthly pass includes 8 lessons, twice a week — €65.
A single lesson costs €10.
Children aged 5–6 — preparation for Slovak school
Children aged 5–6 learn with authentic Slovak textbooks and gradually adapt to a Slovak-speaking educational environment.
During the lessons, children study the Slovak alphabet and basic mathematics, learn about colours, geometric shapes, seasons and other important topics. They also learn to read in Slovak and count to ten.
Children gain their first knowledge about the human body, the senses, our planet, the Universe, continents and cities. The lessons develop logical thinking, memory, concentration and the skills needed for successful learning at a Slovak school.
We use Slovak textbooks developed specifically for children of this age: Veľká kniha predškoláka, Micka a Maxík, Počítajme hravo.
Schedule for children aged 5–6:
Monday: 16:00–17:00;
Wednesday: 17:00–18:00;
Friday: 16:00–17:00.
Classes begin on 5 October.
A free trial lesson will take place on 2 October at 16:00.
An 12-lesson pass costs €80.
Classes are available both in groups and individually.
